Human Embryo Carnegie Stage 14
Embryo appears as Carnegie Stage 14 from ectopic pregnancy.
- Ventral view of embryo is partially enclosed in amniotic membrane.
- Larger cavity is chorionic space (coelom).
- Placental villi are visible outside chorionic membrane.
- Small sac (right) connected to umbilical region is the yolk sac.
- Vitelline blood vessels vessels can be seen in the yolk stalk connecting the yolk sac to the embryo.

- Week 5, 31 - 35 days, 5 - 7 mm
- Gestational Age GA week 7
- Mesoderm: continued segmentation of paraxial mesoderm (30+ somite pairs), heart prominence
- Head: 1st, 2nd and 3rd pharyngeal arch, forebrain, site of lens placode, site of otic placode, stomodeum
- Body: heart, liver, umbilical, upper and early lower limb bud
