Introduction
This current page is a bookmark for muscle development related pages. There are 3 types of muscle (skeletal, cardiac and smooth). While all body muscle is mesoderm in origin, in the head neural crest may also contribute. Descriptions of their development, structure and histology can be found on various System and Histology pages on this site.
