Contergan - tablet packaging
Historic packaging for tablets of the sleeping tablet drug released in Germany as "Contergan", that contained thalidomide.
Dr Widukind Lenz (1919 - 1995) was a German paediatrician who in 1961 identified the association of a thalidomide drug ("Contergan") with birth abnormalities.[1][2][3]. In Australia, a similar observation had been made independently by Dr William McBride published in a brief letter in The Lancet (16 December 1961).
