Thyroid Histology

  • consists almost entirely of rounded cysts or follicles.
  • cells surrounding the follicle form a simple cuboidal epithelium.
  • separated by small amounts interfollicular connective tissue.
  • capillaries located in the interstices between the thyroid follicles.
  • C cells are very difficult to identify.
