Human Lung Inter-alveolar Septum
Type I (AEC1) and type II (AEC2) alveolar epithelial cell.
Lamellar bodies (LB) contain surfactant in type II cell.
Tight junctions (arrowheads) between type II cell and neighbouring type I cell extensions.
Collagen fibrils (col) are present in the interstitium (extracellular space).
Alv alveolar lumen, Cap capillary lumen, Endo capillary endothelial cell.
